The Very Basic Overview of Level 3

  1. Provides the final stage of triggering for the detector
  2. Processes the full event data from the event buffer and categorizes events for final selection and push to mass storage at no more than 100 Hz given no more than 2 kHz input from Level 1.
  3. Part of the Trigger project, but it sits in the Online Event Processing (OEP) environment which is part of the Online computing system
    1. subject to the same deadtime and efficiency requirements as Level 1 and the rest of the Online
    2. constrained to data input achievable through OEP
