Electron Beam in B Field

The cathode ray tube has a fluorescent screen which shows the path of the beam as it passes from one electrode to the other. A bar magnet may be brought close to the tube from the front, and then the screen shows the beam deflected up or down. The electron beam may be deflected with a high voltage power supply connected across the electrostatic deflection plates.
