These can be used in a variety of Newton's Laws discussions. You can hang weights on the spring scale, or stand on the bathroom scale, to demonstrate weight and mass. You can jump on the bathroom scale, with a television projection of the scale, to talk about force and acceleration. You can have two spring scales pulling on each other to demonstrate the third law.
