There are several programs on the Mac for manipulating sound inputes. SoundEdit 16 and SoundEdit Pro are two versions of the same program. The older one does better with real-time Fourier transforms, while the newer one can deal with a bigger variety of input types. Sound does a better job of producing an after-the-fact high precision Fourier transform. All of them take a bit of practice in advance of class.
