Gaia Tavoni

Post-doctoral Researcher

Primary mentor is Professor Vijay Balasubramanian.

Gaia holds a PhD in Statistical Physics awarded from École Normale Supérieure, Paris (2015).

Research Interests:

Statistical Physics, Inference, Neuroscience. During my PhD in Paris I worked primarily on the problem of the identification and characterization of cell assemblies in neuronal data through inference and simulations of functional network models. I'm currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Computational Neuroscience Initiative at Penn, where I'm exploring different problems ranging from memory degeneration in Alzheimer's disease to high-level olfactory processing and normative models of decision making.
