overview

My first decade at the University of Pennsylvania was devoted almost exclusively to research in experimental particle physics, with teaching as a distinctively secondary responsibility.  I moved gradually into academic administration, increased my commitment to teaching, and eventually left research entirely.  I spent the first two years of my retirement working in the Provost’s Office, and have been teaching part time since then.
