Day 10: July 17th
Students began the final week of the program with an introduction to the speed of light and its determination throughout history. Following this introduction, students went to the lab to build circuits that they will use to experimentally determine the speed of light. Later in the morning, students heard from Dr. Kenneth Lande about energy consumption and renewable energy. After lunch, students went to their interest groups for the first time this week. Throughout this week, students will split up and go to various locations to learn about cloud chambers, quantum mechanics, alternative energy, high energy physics, non-Newtonian fluids, radio telescopes and high speed phenomena.
