MY RESEARCH interests concentrate on galaxy formation and
the large scale structure of the Universe. My models provide an
accurate and concise description of the abundance and spatial
distribution of galaxies and galaxy clusters in expanding world
models.
In particular, I develop models of hierarchical clustering which
use a variety of analytical (combinatorics, stochastic processes,
point processes) and numerical tools. The model predictions
are compared to simulations and observations. I have recently
become interested in models where fragmentation also matters,
as well as in various statistical estimation problems motivated by
astrophysics.
