Here is an short report from Mike Wilson, the Adopt-A-Stream Project leader, on this year's first official workday on July 21, 2001.
"... Saturday July 21 st marked a milestone for the Southeastern Montgomery County Chapter of Trout Unlimited, as we completed our first work day on our Adopt - A - Stream Project. Fourteen chapter members participated in the placement of "In Stream" deflectors in Pennypack Creek within Lorimer Park. The initial phase involved placing a stone deflector ( deflector # 7 ) 26 feet by 15 feet on the near bank. In addition, we completed the foundation for a stone and log deflector (deflector # 6) 30 feet by 10 feet on the far bank. Our next work day is scheduled for Saturday August 18th. The plan is to complete deflector # 6 and start work on deflectors # 5 and # 8 that same day..."
