High Energy Theory Seminar: Classifying boundary conditions in JT gravity

Jorrit Kruthoff (Stanford)
-

We will discuss various boundary conditions in JT gravity and their implications in both the classical and quantum theory. Our focus will primarily be on fixing the metric and extrinsic curvature on the boundary. One interesting consequence of this particular boundary condition is that depending on the value of the extrinsic curvature, either non-trivial topologies or only disks contribute. This has interesting consequences for the definition of the matrix integral, alpha states and factorization that we will elaborate on. This talk is based on 2010.12592.
